IoT in Oil and Gas Industry
IoT In Oil and Gas Industry helped to management of Asset, Networking and managing manufacturing and production equipment and controlling production process to bring in the sphere of Industrial Applications and Smart Manufacturing.
This has enabled the industries to network the entire field devices to link together, fast development process, optimization of products, to know more details about IIoT click here What is Industrial IoT .
There are various industries who are contributing towards manufacturing quality products which can be used by equipment manufacturers, device manufacturers, and system integrators to build high-performance and reliable solutions for supporting the requirements of PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controller), HMI’s (Human Machine Interface), Robotics, machine vision, and other industrial applications.
Use of predictive analytics and predictive maintenance made Oil & Gas Industry embark IoT solutions to monitor assets which include mining, refining, transport, and sales operations equipment and also provide its customers with real-time data of supply chain which can help to predict problems before they occur.
This increase efficiency in Oil and Gas industry.
The crude oil is found more than 500 feet below the surface of the earth which is then transported by means of train and trucks to the oil refineries. Here, the oil is purified and then sent to the pumps and finally delivered to the people. Any fault in this complete process can cause a serious damage such as instance explosion, lack of oil supply, and bad quality of the oil. The equipment those were used for mining, refining, moving, and selling it needs a continuous monitoring so that there is hardly any delay in oil manufacturing.

IoT has created a platform to monitor and support the supply chain of oil manufacturing.
This has given a rise to make use cloud-based solutions, sensors, software, and devices to forecast the equipment failure, monitor performance of the system, and help to improve the behaviour of the system to avoid these failures in future.
Microsoft Azure IoT services are being used in oil and gas industries to bring data from the most remote places and send it over the cloud to the decision makers. This data can be used to further predict the faults and alert customers about the real-time failure, also providing remote troubleshooting for reducing the downtime.
Before the advents of IoT everything was paper based to track the movement of oil, but now the “Metering Skids” track the movement of oil in real time which helped to achieve operational intelligence.

The fueling stations all the world are being continuously monitored for inventory and performance of the pumping stations to meet the increasing demand for the clean, liquid natural gas. Since the data is visible across the complete supply chain which made the service provider companies provide better support.
Real-time monitoring using cloud data can reduce the manual efforts, reduces the time to monitor business devices. Furthermore due to the good amount of storage capacity it possible to analyse the data and to take decisions for automating the processes to increase system efficiency and reducing the cost.
Internet of Thing is increasing the demand in oil and gas sector to deliver good quality of fuel and natural gas to the end users.

Nice work, am really surprised to see the beauty of new paint and the stuff which is neatly covered with fabric .
Thank you Sam for such nice words!
